Tee fittings are the most common configuration for chemical injection and sampling and for sand erosion probe assemblies. The main line connection is available as Flareweld, Buttweld, Socketweld, NPT or Flanged (ASME or API); the side tee connection is available in 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", 1" or 2", NPT threaded or flanged welded. Threaded tees are not recommended in sour service. If needed, the side NPT tee can be closed with a pipe plug so that the fitting can also carry coupons or probes.
Chemical inhibitors are one of the most practical ways to minimise and control corrosion in pipelines and vessels. With the EuropCorr retrievable injection and sampling system, inhibitors can be injected continuously or intermittently, and process fluids sampled, while the injection or sampling tube can be removed for cleaning under full line pressure with the Retrieval Tool Kit. The system consists of a Tee Access Fitting with a Solid Plug, to which a tube is fitted by means of an injection/sampling nut; an optional internal check valve between nut and tube prevents back-flow to the injection equipment.
