The Active Harmonic Filter (AHF) measures the load current in real time, separates the harmonic components and drives IGBT power stages to inject a compensation current of equal amplitude and opposite phase. Harmonic currents generated by variable speed drives, rectifiers, UPS, LED lighting and other non-linear loads are cancelled at the source, protecting transformers, cables and capacitor banks and helping sites meet utility power quality limits.
The filter is built as compact modules (wall or rack mounting) that can be paralleled without limit to reach the required capacity, from 15 A up to several hundred amperes, on 220 V to 800 V networks.
