The Mechanical Solid Plug is the internal part of the Mechanical Access Fitting. It seals in the line pressure and acts as the retrievable carrier for coupon assemblies and chemical injection and sampling devices. The plug threads that mate with the access fitting body can be PTFE coated on request to reduce the risk of galling.

Part of the EuropCorr Mechanical Access System, the traditional and economical assembly giving access to pipelines and vessels under full operating pressure without shutdown. The assembly is made of a Mechanical Access Fitting, a Solid or Hollow Plug and a Heavy Duty or Pressure Retaining Cover, and allows corrosion coupons, probes and chemical injection or sampling devices to be inserted and retrieved with the Mechanical Retrieval Tool Kit (installation under pressure with the Hot Tap Tool Kit).
