EuropCorr Polymer Coupon & Holder

The Polymer Coupon Assembly determines the change in density of polymer materials exposed to the process fluid. It is used for flexible risers (multi-layer structures of steel armour wires and polymer layers) and polymer storage tanks (polyethylene or polypropylene) holding gas, oil, water or chemicals. Coupons are made of the same polymer and thickness as the monitored structure and analysed after exposure to detect breakdown or ageing. The holder grid accommodates up to 10 disc coupons, fully exposed to the flow.

EuropCorr coupon holders screw (left-hand thread) onto a Solid Plug and are used with both 2" high-pressure mechanical and hydraulic access systems, so coupons can be changed quickly without shutdown. Coupons are insulated from the holder; each coupon carries a unique serial number and is supplied with a certificate (serial number, weight to four decimal places, dimensions and material), individually packed in a moisture-resistant inhibited envelope with a one-year shelf life. Holder length is checked for wake frequency and stress according to ASME PTC 19.3.
