EuropCorr Flush LPR Probe, Three Electrodes

The Flush LPR probe with three electrodes (working, counter and reference) is mounted flush with the pipe wall, allowing pigging without interference; it is used where the probe cannot extend into the line. Mild steel electrodes, epoxy seal. Fixed and adjustable versions are available.

Linear Polarisation Resistance (LPR) is an electrochemical method giving an instantaneous corrosion rate in conductive environments: a small potential of 10 to 20 mV is applied between identical electrodes and the resulting current gives the polarisation resistance, which is inversely related to the corrosion rate. LPR probes are recommended for water systems, oil systems with high and continuous water cut and condensation corrosion, and are ideal to follow corrosion inhibitor performance with almost instant feedback.

The probe is mounted through a EuropCorr Hollow Plug Assembly and is used with both 2" high-pressure mechanical and hydraulic access systems; with the Retrieval Tool and Service Valve it can be changed or inspected without shutdown. Readings are taken with the MaxiCorr portable instrument through the 6-pin connector (S-type connector on request) or continuously with the MegaCorr data logger.
