The vortex flow meter measures the flow of liquids, gases and steam based on the Karman vortex street principle: the frequency of vortices shed by a bluff body is proportional to the flow velocity. With no moving parts, it is a robust choice for steam and utility metering.
Signal processing with differential detection, shielding and filtering gives good immunity to vibration and noise. Versions with integrated temperature and pressure compensation provide mass or standard volume flow.
