PANAM PWS syphons protect pressure measuring instruments from excessive heating by steam, hot liquids or gases and reduce the effect of rapid pressure surges. They are mounted between the process tapping (or shut-off valve / stop cock) and the instrument.
The U-type is used for horizontal tapping and the Q-type (pigtail) for vertical tapping. Syphons are made from SCH 40 or SCH 80 pipe in stainless steel or carbon steel, with threaded or weld ends on the process side.
